Mar 17, 2021 - Texas - New Phases & Locations to Register

Texas has expanded eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine to include priority group 1C: adults age 50-64. If you’re in groups 1A, 1B, 1C, or an education employee, there are several ways to schedule an appointment. We have liked many registration websites above and below, such as vaccine through a vaccine hubs, pharmacies, urgent care, and community health clinic. If you’re eligible, health officials recommend getting on several waitlists to increase your chances of getting an appointment.

Feb 23, 2021 - Texas - Area Agency On Aging Scheduling 3,000 Spots for Seniors at NRG Stadium

The Houston Health Department - Harris County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is scheduling the COVID19 vaccine for:

  • People age 65 and older
  • People age 60 and older with chronic health conditions
  • People with disabilities

We are working with the Area Agency on Aging to prioritize Iora patients.  These appointments are for the large vaccination site at NRG stadium. These will be drive through appointments. As of Monday, the AAA still has spots available for this coming Wednesday.

  • Register directly with the AAA by calling: 832-393-4301
  • Leave a message with your name and phone number. People only need to leave one message.
  • Calls will be returned for screening and scheduling as supply is available.

As a friendly reminder, Iora is not able to offer rides to patients for drive through vaccination sites.  This is too difficult for our ride-share partners to plan for wait times. However, we can offer assistance if you have a drop off/pick up type of vaccination appointment.

Regarding Current Vaccine Appointments and Houston’s Winter Weather

We know that many individuals and families are still recovering from the storms. If you have a vaccine appointment scheduled during this time, please confirm that your location is open first. We urge you to use caution for traveling to and from your appointment. If you had a vaccine appointment canceled due to the storm, the companies are working to reschedule.  Please have patience as they wait to safely reschedule and reopen as needed. Future vaccine shipments may also be experiencing delay.
