Jan 21, 2021 - North Carolina -  COVID Vaccine Locations Where and How To Register

North and South Carolina are currently scheduling vaccination appointments for people over age 65. Please continue reading for how you can register.  Please note that vaccine supply is limited and changes week to week. Most sites are by appointment only. If you are trying to schedule and it shows nothing available - please keep trying!

Novant and Atrium Health are scheduling appointments through their own systems. If you already have an account with them please log in and follow their process for obtaining vaccines.

Cone health and the Guilford County Division of Public Health (GCDPH) set up a large vaccination site at the Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center. You must have an appointment. Walk-ins will NOT be accepted. You can read more information by clicking here.

  • If their website states "all appointments are filled" - keep checking. They will add more appointments soon.
  • You can also join their waiting list for the next available appointments. They will contact you when appointments become available. Please do not sign up more than once. Join the waiting list.

Novant Health now scheduling COVID-19 vaccines for patients 65 and older. The appointments will be at vaccination sites set up in the greater Charlotte or Winston-Salem areas.  You do not need to be a Novant Health patient. Supplies are limited! You can learn more about Novant by clicking here. Here is what we know from their website:

  • They are asking people to schedule through MyChart or their clinic. If you have  MyChart and are eligible now, you might have a message to sign up for an appointment. If you do not have MyChart you can sign up by clicking here. MyChart is the easiest and most efficient way to stay up-to-date from Novant.

South Carolina Resources

South Carolina is currently in Phase 1A which includes individuals 70 years and older. You can begin scheduling appointments for COVID-19 vaccine now.

Reminders:

  • Vaccine supply is limited and changes week to week. If the website says it's fully booked, keep checking!
  • Everyone must register on their own (regrettably, we cannot register for you).
  • Getting the vaccine does not take the place of safety precautions. The CDC continues to advise wearing a mask and social distancing to help stop the spread of COVID-19. This is true even for people who have received the vaccine.
  • Please have patience as we wait for information from the state. The fastest way we can update you about vaccines is through these emails.  Due to the number of calls coming in, there can be long wait times.  Please help us keep the lines open for patient care. We promise that we will send out another email when we get more news. We are as eager as you are to get this process underway!
  • Continue to check your state or county department of health website. They will have the most updated information:
  • General NC Vaccine Information: https://covid19.ncdhhs.gov/vaccines
  • General SC Vaccine Information: https://scdhec.gov/covid19/covid-19-vaccine

Jan 6, 2021 - North Carolina -  COVID Vaccine Updates

Many North Carolina counties have started vaccinating for Phase 1B which includes those 75 years and older and frontline essential workers. This is great news for our eligible patients. Iora has not received word from the state about getting vaccine doses. Instead, we have found other resources for you to receive vaccination. Your care team cannot register for you. That information is below.

We are requesting patience as we receive and wait for more information from the state about vaccine availability. Please do not send portal messages to individual providers or call the practice asking about the vaccine. We are being overwhelmed with calls, and we must leave our phone lines open for patient care.

Forsyth County is accepting vaccination appointments for Phase 1B as of today, January 6th.

  • Individuals that meet this criteria can call 336-703-2081 to schedule an appointment.
  • Due to high call volume, callers will need to be patient and may need to call back if the line is busy.
  • The vaccine appointment line is open Mon-Fri 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. and Sat. and Sun. 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Read more about it here: https://www.co.forsyth.nc.us/publichealth/article.aspx?NewsID=25885

Cabarrus county is accepting vaccination appointments for Phase 1B as of today, January 6th.

Mecklenburg county will begin accepting vaccination appointments for those who are 75+ at Bojangles Coliseum as early as Jan 6th. As of this morning, the next available dates are already to February so they are filling up! Click here for the best website for more information.

  • Individuals HAVE TO LIVE in Mecklenburg county, we’re told they will check IDs.
  • Appointments will be required (No walk-ins).
  • You can register by calling 980-314-9400 and selecting option 3 or by signing up here: https://booknow.appointment-plus.com/83g1hcpv/

You will be asked to create an account, you have to be in one of the categories listed. So you will need to direct it for patient 75 and up ONLY and to choose the last drop-down “Phase 1B: >=75 yrs old”. Picture below for reference.

Guilford County has no update to share for Phase 1B. We understand more information will come next week. We will keep everyone updated.

South Carolina Residents: The above resources are only for North Carolina residents. Since each state has their own supply for their residents. At this time we do not have information for South Carolina residents, since our business is in North Carolina we do not have access to the state’s information. We promise to send future emails when we know more.

This is the most updated information available to us. Please continue visiting North Carolina COVID-19 Vaccine Information or North Carolina Department of Health COVID-19 Vaccine Presentation for the latest information. https://covid19.ncdhhs.gov/vaccines
